PharmaTrade Analytics is your go-to resource for using wholesaler trade data to make critical business decisions quickly. To identify and assess key performance issues, we work with returns data, chargeback data, 867 and 852 data, specialty patient data, and rebate data. We can act as your advisor, or you can fully outsource your trade data analytics to an expert who has the perspective of working across multiple pharmaceutical manufacturers.
You’ll want to retain PharmaTrade Analytics for the following use cases:
Trade Relations
We can show you how to see if your wholesaler is performing to contract requirements and getting the right products to the right places at the right time. We can also help you monitor the success of product launches, understand the impact of losing exclusivity, or optimize your pricing strategy. Or, we can perform the analysis for you and provide a report with actionable insights.
Finance
We can help you validate what to pay wholesalers upon performance to your contract requirement, from forecasting sales by product to returns to understanding discounts to chargebacks. We also understand the complexity CFOs face with purchasers returning and getting credit for expired drugs. We can create an 18-month returns forecast from your sales so you can calculate gross-to-net returns reserves, prevent the negative financial impact of inaccurate guesswork, and be confident in your audits. Ask us about our comprehensive Chargeback Leakage Analysis.
Sales Operations
We can help you improve your target account selling and wholesale product distribution outcomes by monitoring product utilization (purchasing patterns) by hospitals and pharmacies, sales performance by territory, and product availability within a sales territory or at specific locations. In addition, we help customers who are launching products make stocking decisions—in the absence of sales and distribution history—by using de-identified data and analysis of similar launches to pinpoint benchmarks. We can also perform bespoke analysis and provide a report with actionable channel insights.

Are you concerned you are not getting chargeback reversals for saleable products returned by hospitals/pharmacy customers to your wholesalers with significant contract sales?
Would you like to gain visibility into chargeback returns leakage to improve your profitability and negotiation advantage with wholesalers?
What is Chargeback Returns Leakage? When a product purchased under contract price is returned from “ship to” customer address, the wholesaler must return the chargeback request amount originally received from the manufacturer. Chargeback returns leakage occurs when the manufacturer does not receive the corresponding chargeback reversal.
Pharmaceutical manufacturers have the contractual right to audit wholesalers as part of their chargeback activities. However, they must engage an independent third party to protect the privacy of customer credit data collected from the wholesaler in the audit process.
This is where PharmaTradeAnalytics comes in. Because of our industry reputation, wholesalers trust we’ll only share the relevant data (out of millions of rows of credit data) with you after analyzing it to find cases of chargeback returns leakage. Typically, we find leakage in a small percentage of total returns, but this can be meaningful in dollar value.
PharmaTrade Analytics developed a simplified solution for identifying the extent of your wholesaler’s chargeback liability. Our approach focuses solely on transaction-level chargeback and customer credit data shared by wholesalers in the context of annual chargeback audits. Upon pinpointing meaningful leakage value, we can help you decide whether to claw it back to improve gross-to-net profitability or use it as leverage when negotiating DSA contract renewals with wholesalers.
With our Chargeback Returns Leakage Solution, you will also gain insight into:
Extra chargebacks unrelated to the original ship-to-volume by invoice number
Covered entities and their complete contract pharmacy network (including blinded big chain outlets)
Uncontrolled growth in your contract pharmacy network so you may police it
